We're Gonna Be Alight: Friendless in a New City

July 1, 2016

Life has been a little rough since graduation. I moved to NYC in mid-June and have been hustling to try to find a job. At first, I was really discouraged about moving to a city with little money, a small amount of friends and no source of income. But while I was in a coffee shop near Soho the other day preparing for a coffee date, I realized something: this detour in my plan of world donation is a gift. I

Airport Update

June 13, 2016

I'm currently sitting at the airport waiting for my delayed flight to New York City to board. One of my favorite ways to pass the time is by people-watching. As I'm sitting here fighting the urge to go get a double choclaty chip frappuccino (i'll lose my precious spot at the charging table) one question keeps running through my mind: why are there so many attractive men in this airport that dress so poorly? Honestly, I think it's quite sad. I've only seen three well-dressed men during the past few hours I've been here. I wish more guys understood the power of tasteful streetwear. I am still in Georgia, so I should probably lower my expectations. It's just hard not to compare these southern gentlemen to the well-dressed men of New York. Until next time.

Weekend Getaway

There's nothing like a relaxing weekend at the lake to clear your mind. A couple of friends and I took a trip to Lake Oconee to stay at a friend's lake house. This mini-vacation was the perfect mixture of fun and relaxation, and I encourage everyone to spend a weekend with mother nature this summer. If you are thinking of making a trip to the lake house soon, here are a couple of do's and don'ts.

Summer Must Haves: The Basics

Summer Must Haves: The Basics

When the temperature reaches 90° by noon, this is my reality since I'm currently in Georgia, it can be hard to look good when you are busy fighting the humidity and heat. That's why my summer fashion tends to be simple, but simple doesn't have to mean boring. Above are some the basic pieces and accessories I use to look chic in a letter of seconds.

A New Chapter

June 1, 2016

Nineteen days have passed since I graduated from the University of Georgia, and for the past 19 days I have lived with the label of "unemployed". Everyone that knows me on a personal level knows that I am not the type of girl to sit around and not chase her dreams. I always have a plan. I always have goals, and I do everything in my power to meet those goals by the deadline I establish. Essentially, I get what I want because I work until my dreams become a reality. Unfortunately, I did not get what I wanted, and what I wanted was to graduate with a job in fashion PR in NYC.
