Currently Loving - L'Occtitane Almond Shower Oil. This is my new holy grail. It came in a refresh kit I bought at Sephora almost a year ago, but I never used this product. Then, I ran out of body wash at the beginning of September, and was too lazy to buy more. So I started using this oil, and now I'm obsessed with it. I feel like a luxurious princess every time I use this oil. I think the oil is made from the tears of angels or something, guys... it's so freaking nice and the smell is intoxicating. I am officially a cult fan of L'Occitane.

Fashion Month Part 1: 2 Ways to Wear Spring 2018 Trends this Fall

September 27, 2017

Fashion month is such an exciting time. It's like the fashion world's Christmas that comes twice a year. Although it's an exhausting and demanding time of year ( I barely slept when I worked 5 shows... during the blizzard in February 2017), you can't help but be consumed by inspiration once you watch a runway show. A lot of people underestimate the power of fashion. For me, it really does help me express myself. And when I'm wearing an outfit I feel confident in, I feel powerful.

This season, I sat New York Fashion Week out, and although part of me was sad not to see a few amazing collections in person; I was also relieved to not have to deal with the complete insanity that comes with being on the PR side of NYFW. From running the shows, mapping out the perfect seating chart, handling pre-show, during-show and post-show press interviews and pitches, being the point person for celebrities, media, bloggers and influencers at the show, coordinating check-in, meeting the designer's demands and catering to anything and everything that can and will go wrong, the PR side of Fashion Week is not a joke. That's why I was ok with sitting on the sidelines this season and watching livestreams of some of my favorite designers. So today, I'm sharing 2 inspired fall looks from 2 Spring 2018 collections shown during NYFW and LFW (London Fashion Week), because we shouldn't have to wait until March to start rocking some of these beautiful Trends.

New York Fashion Week
Alice and Olivia: Be Bold

If there's one word that came to mind when I saw this collection; it's boldness. I loved the loud colors and mixed prints throughout the preview! My favorite piece in the collection is this beautiful snake-skin print jacket! I'm already imagining the beautiful ways I could wear a jacket like this in the spring and fall! Dear lord, I think I need it now. But, in an effort to be responsible, if you’re going to invest in a trend, you should get the most use out of the items. A snake skin print jacket is a very loud statement piece, but snake skin print booties… well those go with everything and are the perfect addition to any bland outfit. Are you in a rush but want to look cute with very little effort? Throw on a pair of these beautiful booties with a skirt and top, any simple dress or leggings and a comfy top. You look chic while staying comfortable and getting out the door in no time. Below are a few booties I have my eye on. I recently picked up a pair of dark snake skin print booties, but I have a feeling I’ll end up getting one of the lighter pairs below as well.

London Fashion Week
Fendi: School Girl Plaid
One day I know I'll get to attend LFW, but until then, I'll just be here stalking the shows on Fashionista.com and WWD.com. The Fendi collection really stood out to me. There were a lot of stripes and plaid. And. I. Loved. It! Honestly, I can never get enough plaid, and this fall, I really just want to look like I belong in the movie Clueless. Judge me if you want, but the 90s revival is still in full swing.  Over the summer, I purchased a cute plaid, tweed mini skirt from Zara. I've been waiting for it to actually feel like fall so I can finally wear the skirt, but after finding the skirts below, there's a 99.9% chance I'll be adding them to my closet. My wise friend Georgia once told me "don't underestimate the power of a classic plaid skirt." I could not agree with her more.

Baby Let Me Be Your Motivation: Midweek Inspiration + Disaster Relief

September 20, 2017

I wanted to keep today's post short and to the point. My original vision for the post was to just round up my favorite positive quotes and inspiring videos I found this week, but after yesterday's earthquake in Mexico, I couldn't write this post without taking a minute to point out all the ways we can help the victims in Mexico, Texas, Miami, the multiple Caribbean islands, and potentially Puerto Rico that have been impacted by the insane amount of natural disasters lately.

Below are a few ways to help. Leave a comment below letting me know of other great ways to help out! I'd love to share them in an updated post.

This has been a weird and upsetting  week for people around the globe. Luckily,  it's already Wednesday, but we still have a way to go until Friday evening. That's why I created the above collage of inspiring quotes. I feel like Fall is too amazing to spend it stressing out (or forgetting to be grateful for everything we have), so I'm going to look at this collage whenever I feel negative, discouraged or upset. I hope it helps you too. And if you need more, here are some more inspiring quotes that Buzzfeed rounded up for us.

Happy Hump Day! We are going to rock it! Leave a comment below of your favorite inspirational quote! I'd love to read all of them.

Live Well: Weekly Wellness Challenge #1

September 18, 2017

Get more done

Every time the seasons change, I feel like it's the perfect time for me to reinvent myself or push myself to the next level. This fall, I've decided to focus on a different area in my life every 2 weeks. For this first challenge, I'm going to start off light and easy. For the next two weeks, I challenge myself to prep for each day the night before, and I challenge you too.

So here's the game plan for our night of success:

1. Pick out a cute outfit the night before (even if we're just going to the gym or running errands). Lately, I've really noticed how different I feel when I present myself well verses when I don't try. My energy and confidence levels definitely drop when I don't put any effort into my appearance. Plus, there're so many cute workout/athleisure clothes now, so maybe treat yourself to a new piece.

2. Pack my lunch (and dinner if I'm having a late gym night) the night before! It is too expensive and unhealthy to buy lunch every day at work. I'm so over flushing my money down the toilet and I'm so over being a lazy bum. To make this as easy as possible on us, here is some inspiration for delicious and easy meals to prep this fall.

3. Write my to-do list for the next day! I heard about this trick from one of Marie Forleo's videos, and at first, I was skeptical because I love starting my day with a planning session... but that was when I had a lot of time to get ready in the morning. Now that I have more responsibilities and a lot less free time, I don't have 30 minutes each morning to think about what I want to accomplish that day. If I start creating these lists the night before, I save soooo much time and don't get that insane sense of panic every morning that comes with being behind schedule.

So let's start this challenge today! I'm already proud of myself because I forced myself to go grocery shopping right after work, and now I'm going to meal prep while watching In Living Color (the best comedy show from the 90s) . I'm going to tackle these 3 things, set my alarms for 5:45 in the morning and get ready to reap the rewards. Do I think this is going to be fun... hell no! But I know it will be worth it because your dreams don't magically happen, you have to work for them.

Leave a comment down below each night that you complete this challenge! Let's keep each other motivated and see if this makes a huge difference. I think this will really push us closer to our goals!

September Mood Board

September 9, 2017

romance, whimsy and beauty

I have mixed feelings about summer coming to such an abrupt end. Technically, fall doesn't start until September 22nd, but it feels like full on fall here in NYC. On one hand, I do love wearing sweaters and not feeling like I'm about to die from a heat stroke on the subway, but on the other hand, there's something so freeing about the warm summer months. Regardless, this transitional period is one I'm excited about.

I've been channeling this romantic, dreamy and glamorous vibe for the month of September. I spent almost all of August beating myself up for mistakes I made or for not having all of my shit 100% together 100% of the time. This REALLY impacted my mood, confidence and energy. I've always pushed myself, but I've also always put too freaking much pressure on myself, which is not healthy. I am so ready to rejuvenate by practicing self-care and radiating love all around me. I'm making a conscious effort to enjoy the smallest things this month and pamper myself (on a budget of course). So cheers to an amazing month full of whimsy, adventures and gratitude. Leave a comment below letting me know what's inspiring you this month! Let's make the most out of this September!

My Happy List: September

September 2, 2017

End of Summer

I start off each morning filling out my happiness planner. It’s basically an agenda mixed with a mindfulness and gratitude journal that helps me set my intentions for the day. One of my favorite aspects of The Happiness Planner is that each month begins with a plan section. One area of the plan is titled “Happy Things I Will Do.” I get excited to fill this out each month because I am given the chance to focus on the cool experiences I want to have each month. Today I’ve sharing my September list with you.

MY SEPTEMBER LIST

         1. GO CAMPING
I’ve never been camping before, so this is at the top of my list this month. One of my friends recently told me about Tentrr. This company takes all of the hassle out of camping (think airbnb but for camping)! You choose from a selection of sites (private ones are available too), then Tentrr provides and sets up everything you need for your trip. They even provide outdoor showers and bathrooms, so I'm already sold on the idea. The less work I have to do, the happier I'll be.

2. TAKE A COOKING CLASS
For some reason I've been wanting to experiment more in the kitchen. Its like I went to sleep one night and woke up possessed by Martha Stewart. Lately I have this intense need to be an amazing hostess, and part of hosting involves cooking. A year ago I didn't even like cooking eggs for myself. I guess I'm truly growing up.

3. GO TO AN OUTDOOR MOVIe
There are a few different organizations that hold free screenings of movies outdoors in NYC. I want to make it to a Tribeca Drive-In: Dinner and a Movie on Oculus Plaza screening!

4 .FINISH DECORATING MY ROOM
This has been a long process because I’m decorating my new apartment on a budget. The other week, I bought the Hillis shelving unit from Ikea and a few cheap picture frames for my wall gallery, all of which I spray painted gold to match my decor theme. I also purchased a cute rug from amazon (which I later found cheaper at Ikea, so get it there if you can). There are a few other items on my radar that I plan to buy in the next few weeks, and I’ll share in a later post. Slowly but surely, my room will come together.

5. GO TO CONEY ISLAND
For the past two years, I’ve cringed every time I heard the name Coney Island mentioned. I went to check it out with a few friends back in 2015 and it was a rough experience. Somehow,  one of my friends managed to convince me to go with him in August, and I have to admit… I actually enjoyed it. The boardwalk was a lot less crowded than the last time I went there and the games and rides in Luna Park  looked fun. It’s been a while since I’ve been to a theme park.

6. BRUNCH CRUISE
I keep seeing adds for these brunch cruises, and I think it's a sign that I need to go on one! What could be better than live music, a buffet, bottomless mimosas and a dance floor all while sailing up and down the Hudson River on a Saturday afternoon? Absolutely nothing!
